Imran Khand is a highly experienced technology entrepreneur, having established two successful technology companies, prior to co-founding Picsel in 1998. Before that, Imran led a Scottish Government initiative for the development and training of young people and was actively involved in a number of other government and community joint ventures. Imran has a degree in Computer Science from Paisley University.
A qualified medical doctor, Majid left the NHS to fulfill a lifelong interest in technology, specialising in ARM and other RISC processors since their earliest releases. He is the driving force behind the development of Picsel’s groundbreaking ePAGE(TM) technology. With a deep understanding of legacy and next generation communications, as well as display, file interchange, networking and web browser technologies, Majid established two other highly successful technology companies before going on to co-found Picsel, in 1998.
Formerly VP Engineering at Sybase iAnywhere, Carlos Arteaga was responsible for defining strategy and led the development of mobile devices, RFID and sensor networks products. In the past, Carlos held several executive positions as CTO and Chief Software Architect. In Telxon Corporation he worked for over 10 years in research and development of mobile devices, Radio Frequency networks, embedded systems and their integration with ERP Systems. Carlos earned a B.S. degree in Computer Science and holds a Titular Professor rank from Havana University.
Richard Guest joined Picsel Technologies in October 2007 as Chief Financial Officer, charged with overseeing the company’s rapid expansion and global investor relations strategy. Guest brings over 20 years experience to the post, having worked at global blue-chip companies, including Hewlett Packard, Hutchinson Whampoa and Diageo, successfully leading the development of new business ventures and complex business transformation. In his most recent role, as CFO for the European operations of Acco Brands, Guest was responsible for post merger integration resulting from the acquisition of GBC
Jack McGinley has led a distinguished career in the hi-tech computing and electronics sector. Having invented and patented the hard disk format, Jack joined Hewlett-Packard to lead a 100-strong team dedicated to new product engineering. Jack moved to Picsel in 2001 to build the company’s first-class software development team. A Glasgow University graduate, Jack also holds an MSc in Digital Electronics from Herriot Watt University and a D.Phil. in Theoretical Physics from Oxford University.
A Chartered Accountant with 10 years commercial experience, Grant has a background in fast growing entrepreneurial companies, most recently in retail and mobile telecoms. Prior to joining Picsel in 2001, Grant was head of finance and general manager of BT Cellnet Retail (now O2 Retail). Grant also held the role of financial controller at Sports Division in the run up to its lucrative acquisition by JJB Sports plc.
Ash joined Picsel in February 2008 as Global Head of Carrier Sales. Prior to joining Picsel, Ash was Vice President - Strategic Accounts at NetCracker Technology and has held multiple senior positions in Sales and Strategic account management in the telecommunications industry. He has worked at leading firms such as Cable & Wireless, LHS Communications, Solect Technology Group, and Amdocs. He holds a Bachelors degree in Science and a degree in Finance from University of South Carolina.
Bill Vanke is a highly experienced telecommunications manager, having worked and consulted for global leaders such as BT, Ericsson, Siebel and Sprint. In 2000, Vanke led Opensite Technology through its acquisition by Siebel for in excess of US$550 million. Bill joined Picsel in 2007, to manage and develop the company’s business in the North Americas.
Ali Adnan joined Picsel in 2000, charged with establishing the company’s Japanese operation, Picsel Technologies KK. Ali has been instrumental to the success of the Picsel Document Viewer in Japan, most recently evangelizing the breakthrough Keitai 2.0 browser concept. Ali was born in Kobe, Japan and educated in both Japan and the US, speaking several languages including Japanese. Prior to joining Picsel, Ali set up Hermstedt Asia Pte Ltd as Managing Director and was responsible for developing the company’s sales channels with key partners, including NTT DoCoMo, Dentsu Tech, Singapore Telecom and Hong Kong Telecom.
Sun Kim has been Country Manager and Business Development Officer for Picsel Korea since 2003. Prior to joining Picsel, Sun held a number of engineering roles at Daewoo and later became a Director of FID Inc in 2001. Sun graduated from Bowling Green State University with an MBA, before completing a Masters degree in Engineering at the University of Michigan.
